I. General Situation
There are a lot of classifications in Jiangxi's textile
industry and the arrangement of the enterprises and industry

there are 226 enterprises of certain scales in the industry,
the gross industrial production value is RMB 6.83 billion,

cotton, ramie and silk. The highest production of cotton
is 2.6 million DAN, now 1.6 million DAN. The highest production
of ramie is over 300,000 DAN, now 100,000 DAN, and national

fibre ranks No. 5 of the country and the quality is among
top of the equivalent industry.

Ltd, Xinyu Huayuan Fareast Textile Co., Ltd and Jiujiang
Haiyang Textile Co., Ltd and so on are key enterprises in
cotton textile industry of the province. Jiangxi Ramie Textile
Co., Ltd is a group company taking trade, industry and agriculture

to weaving, printing, dyeing and garment production. The
production ability is No. 2 in domestic ramie industry.
Jiangxi Yaya Down Jacket Group Company has the national
famous Yaya down jacket.
4. Potential market. At present, the fibre consuming per
capita in the nation is 6.6 kg, which is lower than the
world average 8.7 kg. In 2005, the number will be over 7.4

The main products of building material industry are as follow:
cement, glass, fibre glass, construction ceramics,new building

material industry achieves 6.25% of the total amount of
Jiangxi. There are 199 cement enterprises with the capacity
of 23 million tons, 1 float enterprise with the capacity
of 5 million boxes. The capacity of high-grade aluminum
plastic clad plate is 1.3 million square meters. It is in
the middle of China.
The industry system of building material industry is established:
cement industry-construction glass industry-construction
ceramics industry-fibre glass industry with 23 subsidary
industry and frame of geology exploration, scientific research
and design. There are 2 production lines of 4,200 tons new
dchamotte cement with dry process(Jiangxi Yadong Cement
Ltd. Co.), 3 production lines of 2,000 tons new cement with

I. General Situation
The highway and waterway communications in Jiangxi Province
form the communication and transportation net, in which
the capital city Nanchang and the municipalities are center
hinges; state highway, provincial highway and Gan River

- Nanchang - Pingxiang between east and west and Jiujiang
- Nanchang - Ganzhou between south and north are the cross-shaped

Ⅰ. GENERAL SITUATION
There are 37,666 schools of different levels and different
varieties, including 1047 schools in non-compulsory education
phase with 48 universities and colleges, 16 adult institutions,
76 secondary vocational schools, 119 adult vocational schools,
584 senior high schools and 204 senior secondary vocational
schools. Jiangxi has a very big education scale with 9.3546
million students in those schools. There are 4123 graduates,
266,200 students in universities and colleges, 143,100 students
in adult institutions, 152,000 students in secondary vocational
schools, 15,800 students in adult vocational schools, 609,900
students in senior high schools and 116,900 students in
senior secondary vocational schools.
Ⅱ. STRENGTH AND CHARACTERISTICS
1.Private education is making fast progress in Jiangxi Province,
which has certain strength and characteristics around the
country. There are 5333 private schools of different levels
and different varieties in the province with 688,200 students,
including 103,400 students in 53 universities and colleges;
168,100 students in 293 senior high schools; 290,400 children
in 4691 kindergartens. There are 41,700 people working in
private education field with 33,100 professional teachers.
Total land covered by private schools is 23,696 Mu, including

second-level institutions and 6 software institutions in

science research result. The following projects have come

by China and Germany, Nanchang University's production technology

As a key industry in Jiangxi Province, automotive industry

and components, among which 4 are automakers, 13 are civilian
modified vehicle (including bus) producers, 3 are motorcycle

1. GENERAL SITUATION
Metallurgical industry is the key industry in Jiangxi Province.
There are 34 stated owned enterprises which smelt and mangle
ferrous metal with 6 enterprises processing ferrous metal
and 6 enterprises producing fire-proof materal. 100,000
people are employed. There are 8 type of products,including
construction steel, iron alloy , automible spring, metal
products and so on, with more than 110
catalog and 2100 kinds of specification. The key enterprises
are as follow: Xinyu Iron & Steel Ltd. Co., Nanchang
Iron & Steel Ltd. Co., Pingxiang Iron & Steel Ltd.
Co., Jiangxi Hongdu Iron & Steel Works which are located
in Nanchang, Xinyu, Pingxiang. The output in 2002 is as
follow: steel 5,480,000 tons, pig iron 4,530,000 tons, finished
products of steel 5,320,000 tons, coke 2,230,000 tons, finished
products of iron ore 670,000 tons, automible spring 19,700
tons,steel wire 100,000 tons. The sales revenue is RMB 12.26
billion and the total amount of the profit and the tax is
second following tobacco industry in Jiangxi province.
2. Strengths and characteristic
(1) Strong strength and good foundation. Our province achieves
3% of total output of iron , steel and products which is
respectively the 12th, 14th, 14th among other provinces
in China. The technical specification of the products is
equal to advanced standard. The utilizing ratio of blast
furnace of pig iron is 3.09 tons/m3, the rate of continuous
casting is 99.43%, power consumer is 87 kwh/ton, energy
consume is 0.774 ton standard coal / ton and the rate of
finished products 95.45%.
(2) Equiped with advanced technology and having its own
core products and
distirct strengths. The scheme of production which focuses
on plate and bar on the basis of over 3,000,000 tons converter
steel and 40 tons oven steel is establish in Xinyu Iron
& Steel Ltd. Co. Pingxiang Iron & Steel Ltd. Co.
with the capacity of 2,000,000 tons steel and products focuses
on the new construction material and the masterpiece which
is low cost with high quality. Nanchang Iron & Steel
Ltd. Co. takes chance to expand the production of automible
spring in order to be the top enterprise of automobile spring
in China and have the strength of automobile spring and
threading steel. The production line of rolling steel in
our province is large-scale and advance.
(3) Having some famous, good-quality and characteristic
star performers and expanding the market further. There
are some characteristic products: automobile spring, good-quality
steel products which sell to more than 20 provinces, cities
and autonomous region ,such as Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang,
Fujiang, Guangdong. The name-brand of Haoou, Bosheng, Shanfeng,
Xihe share substantial percetage and enjoy high reputation
in the market.
(4) Enterpris conversion has been deepened continuously
which focus on ownership reform and modern corporate system
is being established. Pingxiang Iron & Steel Ltd. Co.
is the first large-scale key enterprises which conducts
ownership reform and establish the diverse system of investment
in our province.
3. Strategy and key point of development
Stragety: speeding up restructuring and focusing on the
adjustment of product structure, technology equipment structure,
industry structure, ownership structure, organization structure
in order to increase the sales revenue of the metallurgical
industry from RMB12.26 billion to RMB25 billion.
Key point of development:
(1) Restructuring, which is on the basis of high starting
point, shall focuse on technology innovation and sustained
development . We shall perfect and upgrade the structure

bases" , the base of steel wire and bar in Xinyu Iron
& Steel Ltd. Co., the base of good-quality threading
steel and automobile spring in Nanchang Iron & Steel
Ltd. Co., the base of new construction material in Pingxiang
Iron & Steel Ltd. Co. Secondly Carring out the stragety
of materpiece and paying attention to the quality, the specification
and character. Thirdly focusing on specification, quality,
grade, added value, technology and developing region strengths
to expand the market share to bordering province especially
Changjiang trianglar region, Zhujiang trianglar region and
Mingjiang trianglar. Last developing the producs which are
used in manufacture industry.
(3)Speeding up upgrading of technology and equipment with
the applied and advanced technology. We shall have the advanced
technology and large,automatic, effective equipment step
by step.

OF NON-FERROUS METAL INDUSTRY
1. General situation:
The non-ferrous metal industry is the key industry of Jiangxi
province. There are 173 enterprises which focus on non-ferrous
metal, such as Jiangxi Cooper Group Company, Jiangxi Rare-earth
and Tungsten Group Company.
The capacity of 10 kinds of non-ferrous metal is 277,000
tons, including electrolytic copper: 234,000 tons, electrolytic
aluminum: 16,700 tons, copper product: 71,000 tons, tungsten
concentrate: 41,500 tons, columbite-tantalite concentrate:210
tons, rare-earth metal: 3,700 tons. The sales revenue is
RMB 11.3 billion.
2. Strengths:
(1) Rich mine resource:
Jiangxi province is rich in non-ferrous resource with 40%
of black tungsten in reserve in China, more than 50% of
tungsten concentrate in reserve, 60% of columbite-tantalite
ore in reserve. There are 2 open exploitation mine and 2
large underground mine, so copper is rich too in Jiangxi
province.
(2) Complete system of non-ferrous metal industry
The complete system of non-ferrous metal industry is establish
which comprises mine,smelting, processing, geology perambulating,
engineer design and scientific institution. The sales revenue
in 2002 is 9th in China. The system of products is established
from mine product, smelting , processing to devloping the
relevent poducts and the chain of products is extended to
hi-tech product, high added value product.
(3) Advanced technology
Jiangxi Copper Group Company is on the top of China in term
of open exploitation, copper milling and management, equal
to the international advanced standard.Ganzhou Non-ferrous
Metallurgical Institution is on the top of the world in
term of the development of tungsten, columbite-tantalite,
rare-earth and the technology of ionic rare-earth. Nanchang
Non-ferrous Metallurgical designing institution enjoys high
repution in term of non-ferrous designing and research.
Jiangxi Non-ferrous Metal geology perambulation Bureau is

1. General situation:
The output value of electronic information industry in 2002
was RMB 66.55 billion, an increase of 20.94% comparing with
the previous year. The rate of investment type, comsume

materials. The sales revenue in 2002 was RMB 892 million,
an increasing of 102.5% comparing with the previous year.

output value of RMB 1.518 billion and main products are
as follow: LED photoelectricity element, photoelectricity
cable, relay, parts of apparatus and information communication
products, among which the capacity of photoelectricity element
and relay is the first in the national electronic information
industry, Jiangxi Qinghua Tellhow Science and Technology
Share Ltd. Co. with the output value of RMB 340 million
,which main products are as follow: brainpower electric,
mains for defense industry, Nanchang Changda Photoelectricity
Science and Technology Company, which research on LED phase
epitaxy is on the top of China relying on the centre of
